We are delighted to announce that Cindy Newnham, General Manager of Lifeline Alarm Systems Ltd, has been crowned winner at the Venus Awards, for Women in Business 2016.
Finalists of this year’s Isle of Wight Venus Awards attended a glamorous Ceremony and Gala Dinner at Cowes Yacht Haven on Friday 18th March 2016 to discover who would be announced winners in each of the 14 Award categories.
What makes Cindy stand out as ‘Employee of the Year’ – Graeme and Jean Lee Directors at Lifeline Alarm Systems said, ‘Cindy goes above and beyond the call of duty each and every day. She is the heart and soul of the company and we are so proud of her and we think that she is a very worthy winner’. See Cindy’s award presentation here. Cindy’s acceptance speech was full of praise for her team and work colleagues, as well as adding, “to be an outstanding employee, you have to have outstanding employers …thank you Jean, Graeme and Mark.”
Cindy has been part of the Lifeline team for over 26 years and is highly respected both within the local business community and nationally within the Fire & Security industry. Cindy also leads by example setting high standards of ethics, quality and reliability in everything she does. These same standards are what she sets for each member of the Lifeline team to aspire to.
Competition was extremely fierce this year with 1,122 nominations and applications across one or more categories and with 3,170 votes cast in the three public vote categories.
Host for the evening’s celebrations was Lucy Morgan who presents the Weekend Breakfast on Isle of Wight Radio.
Over 140 guests soaked in the atmosphere as they enjoyed a three-course dinner and entertainment from four-girl singing group Company B, who brought the “Wow” factor to the evening with their 1940s and 50s Swing sounds.
Every sponsor emphasised in their speeches when presenting the “Venus”’ to their winner the outstanding calibre of their finalists.
