Embracing The Digital Revolution

Multi award-winning local company, Isle of Wight based Lifeline Alarm Systems Ltd, is leading the way in the digital technology revolution as it embraces the latest standard setting live technology. Lifeline field based engineers can now work in a highly streamlined and efficient way using a digital software system that directly benefits the customer.  Previously, engineers completed jobs by filling out forms on-site in an out-of-date and time-consuming way.

Now, when a job is finished, electronic documents are completed on-site with customer signatures captured, and electronically transmitted back to the Lifeline Customer Support Team at their offices in Newport instantly – ensuring existing customer records are automatically updated. Both field based engineers and the customer support team are able to work on live data, improving efficiency and reducing travel requirements, enabling the customer support team to respond minute-by-minute.

“We are really pleased that we have been able to implement this system a whole year ahead of schedule. The Lifeline team have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to transfer data to the new system.” Cindy Newnham General Manager.

Engineer using digital media

Lifeline researched extensively for the ultimate solution to offer customers the quickest response time and highest standard of service with security of data safeguarded. Mark Lee, Managing Director says “The security of data was paramount to our choice of system provider”. Data security for Lifeline customers is of the highest importance. That is why all electronic devices are protected with multilayer password systems, and all transmitted data encrypted to ensure maximum security.

Lifeline invested in this new digital technology to maximise communication channels between engineers in the field, the customer and the back office. This solution forms part of an overall software system improvement which is implemented both in the field and at Newport. So no matter what time the call out, response time is not only quicker, but the digital software system also guarantees less travel time – reducing engineer resources to and from the office, reflecting Lifeline’s commitment to its 14001 Environmental Policy.

Lifeline is renowned for setting the pace and leading the field both within their industry and locally. Earlier in 2016 Lifeline were amongst the first businesses in the UK to achieve QIB accreditation from the Chamber of Commerce, the first and still only Isle of Wight based company to have NSI Gold accreditation, the highest accreditation for security system installers. This latest investment is another demonstration of the high standards and example set by Lifeline, a local service provider with big ideas, forging ahead with digital technology.
