Lifeline Fire & Security supports Newport IW FC as the club begins an exciting new chapter at WightFibre Park.
After years without a permanent home, Newport IW Football Club has now moved into its impressive new purpose-built facility at WightFibre Park, Whippingham. The new ground provides modern facilities for the club and is also intended to support the wider Isle of Wight football community.
For Lifeline, being involved in the project was particularly significant.
Having enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the club, Lifeline was selected to provide the security systems required to help protect its new home, its facilities and the investment that has gone into creating them.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the project has been continuing Lifeline’s long association with Newport IW FC.
The move to WightFibre Park represents an important moment for the club. Public reporting ahead of the opening described the development as bringing an end to more than seven years of groundsharing, giving Newport a permanent home once again.
To be selected to provide the security for the new facility is therefore something our team is particularly proud of.
It demonstrates the value of building long-term relationships with our customers, understanding their requirements and being there to support them as those requirements evolve.
Moving into a newly constructed facility presented an opportunity for security to be properly considered from the outset.
The new WightFibre Park incorporates far more than simply a football pitch. The clubhouse includes changing facilities, office space, a function room, bar and kitchen, while the wider site has been developed as a modern football venue for the club and community.
An equally important challenge was the programme. With the new football season approaching and fixtures scheduled to take place at the new ground, the security systems needed to be installed, commissioned and operational in time for the facility to welcome players, staff and supporters. This required close coordination with the club and other contractors working on site, ensuring Lifeline’s installation progressed alongside the wider construction programme and was ready when required.
For Lifeline, the project was therefore about more than delivering an effective security solution.
It was about delivering it to the right standard, at the right time, and helping the club ensure its new home was ready for the start of this exciting new chapter.

To further enhance safeguarding and operational oversight, Lifeline installed over 70 CCTV cameras throughout the building and external areas.
The CCTV system supports:
• Supporter safety and safeguarding
• Staff and visitor security
• Discreet colour blending selected camera choices
• Asset protection and incident investigation
Careful coordination ensured camera installations were neatly integrated into the building colour schemes, preserving the exceptional new build facility finish throughout the facility.
Lifeline designed and installed a bespoke intruder alarm system tailored specifically for the new club home. The system provides early detection, clear alerting, off site signalling, police response.
